Social Media usage in our life

The debate about increasing use of Social Media is an old one, with attitudes of people shifting through but the debate over the years. Proponents and Opponents make their cases to support their views on this unresolved issue. In my opinion, social media has been playing a tremendous role in bringing the world together with just a few clicks of the button on computer. This blog will discuss the merits and demerits of using social media in our day to day life and will therefore, reach a logical conclusion.

To commence with, there are numerous arguments surrounding this  viewpoint, but the most important factor that needs to be considered relates to social media is that with its increasing use, communication has become faster between peer to peer. It has shortened the distance and can be used very conveniently to connect with anyone in the world with just few clicks of button. To elaborate further, few pertinent examples can be taken into consideration. Social media platform such as facebook and twitter have made it very easy to conduct a lot of activities all over the globe. Statistics from credible sources have revealed that more than 70% of students use social media to study and connect with each other. Furthermore, social media is also used to conduct a lot of marketing and business activities in the 21st century.

On the other side of the fence, it is also possible to make an opposing case. It can be argued that social media brings along a number of harmful consequences. Excessive use of social media can deteriorate the human health adversely. Critics also believe that addiction of social network can lead to poor eyesight and can further cause diseases like severe headache, back pain etc. However, those, who advocate this view point, fail to see the picture.

In light of above discussion, it seems fair and justifiable to say that social media has been playing  a crucial role in our life. Even though there are some demerits associated with it, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore, the efficient use of social media should be promoted, However its excessive and misuse should be condemned in our day to day life.
